Overview

Grinder Helpers, 1st Shift, 5am start time, Pay: $23 hour, OT is required.

Assignment will be 30-45 days and may become t-h for the right employees.

We are actively seeking a dedicated Grinder Helper to join our manufacturing team on an urgent basis. This role is essential in supporting the grinding process by assisting skilled machinists and operators with preparing, handling, and maintaining grinding equipment. The ideal candidate will contribute to our commitment to precision, safety, and quality in metal fabrication. Responsibilities

Assist with setup and operation of grinding machines, ensuring proper tooling and safety protocols are followed.
Support machinists in handling raw materials, including sheet metal and metal components, for grinding processes.
Help maintain and organize tools, measuring instruments, and safety equipment to ensure a safe workspace.
Perform basic measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments to verify part dimensions.
Assist with inspection of finished parts for quality control, adhering to blueprint specifications and GD&T standards.
Support the cleaning, maintenance, and calibration of grinding equipment and related machinery such as CNC laser cutters, press brakes, CNC lathes, and milling machines.
Follow safety standards in production environments, including proper use of hand tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), and machine operation procedures.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of manufacturing tasks.

Requirements

Previous experience or familiarity with machine operation in a manufacturing setting is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
Basic understanding of mechanical blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings is advantageous.
Knowledge of shop math, measurement techniques, and precision measurement instruments such as micrometers is desirable.
Familiarity with safety standards in production environments and adherence to safety protocols is essential.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes such as welding, forming machines, sheet metal fabrication, plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and tooling is beneficial.
Willingness to learn new skills related to CNC programming, CNC milling machines, CNC laser cutting, stamping presses, or other machining technologies is encouraged.
