General Manager New Upscale Restaurant Opening

$80,000$95,000 Base Salary + Bonus Potential

We are seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead the opening of a new upscale, cocktail-forward restaurant and social destination. This is an opportunity to build a team, establish the culture, and take true ownership of a highly anticipated concept from the ground up.

The ideal candidate is an energetic and polished hospitality leader who understands that a memorable restaurant experience extends beyond food and drinks. You know how to create an atmosphere, connect with guests, develop an engaging team, and hold the operation to consistently high standards.

What Youll Do

• Lead all aspects of pre-opening planning and daily restaurant operations
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop the opening management and hourly teams
• Establish a positive, accountable, and hospitality-driven workplace culture
• Build operating systems, service standards, training programs, and opening procedures
• Partner closely with culinary and bar leadership to deliver a cohesive guest experience
• Manage and develop the chef and other department leaders
• Maintain a strong understanding of both front- and back-of-house operations
• Oversee the restaurants financial performance, including sales, labor, cost controls, budgeting, and profitability
• Create an elevated but approachable service environment that encourages guests to return
• Maintain polished standards for service, presentation, cleanliness, and team appearance
• Develop the restaurants private-event and group-dining business
• Work closely with ownership and senior leadership while serving as the restaurant operations expert
• Lead the business with an ownership mentality and proactively identify opportunities for improvement
• Remain visible and engaged during peak evening and weekend services

What Were Looking For

• Previous General Manager experience in an upscale restaurant, polished casual concept, cocktail-focused venue, or similarly elevated environment
• New restaurant opening experience strongly preferred
• Proven success building teams and establishing culture from the ground up
• Experience leading a chef, kitchen manager, or senior culinary team
• Strong working knowledge of both front- and back-of-house operations
• Financial acumen with direct responsibility for P&L performance, labor, food costs, beverage costs, and controllable expenses
• A genuine passion for hospitality, food, beverage, and creating memorable guest experiences
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to connect with a diverse team and guest base
• Polished, professional, and confident communication style
• Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment and creating structure as the business develops
• Ability to balance creativity, hospitality, and atmosphere with disciplined operational execution
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and other peak business periods

We are looking for someone who is hands-on without micromanaging, confident without ego, and capable of holding high standards while keeping the team engaged. You should be comfortable making decisions, solving problems, developing other managers, and running the restaurant as though it were your own.

This role requires a leader who can step into the room as the restaurant expert, collaborate effectively with ownership, and translate a strong concept and brand vision into a successful daily operation.
