Job Description
We're looking for a Production Service Technician to repair, install, adjust, and maintain industrial production and processing machinery in a pharmaceautical warehouse . You'll also install, dismantle, and move machinery and heavy equipment according to plans, while performing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual preventative maintenance. Monday-Friday 7:00AM to 4:00PM
Location: Houston, TX, US, 77099 (near Southwest freeway and beltway 8)
What You Will Do
- Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs
- Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components
- Maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing equipment
- Examine parts for defects such as breakage or excessive wear
- Reassemble equipment after inspections, testing, or repairs
- Troubleshoot machinery and diagnose malfunctions using voltmeters and other testing devices (no code writing required)
- Work with equipment manufacturers (MFG) to resolve technical issues
- Operate newly repaired equipment to verify repairs
- Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery
- Analyze test results, machine error messages, and operator feedback to diagnose problems
- Record repairs and maintenance performed
- Study blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation
- Record parts and materials used, and order or requisition new ones as needed
- Cut and weld stainless steel to repair broken parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment
- Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators
- Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, and professional societies
- Contribute to team efforts and organizational projects as needed
- Work with peers and department managers to ensure effective communication and flow of materials and resources
- Promote and uphold company values, culture, and quality
- Ensure department objectives align with corporate objectives
- Comply with all EPA regulations when discarding non-hazardous and hazardous waste
- Comply with all OSHA requirements
Qualifications
- GED or high school diploma
- 5+ years of experience in a mechanical environment
- Experience managing results and performance through metrics and process improvement
- Strong troubleshooting skills
Preferred
- Welding experience (MIG, TIG, or stick on stainless steel)
- EPA Section 608 Certification, Type 2 and Type 3
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Certified Water Professional Certification
- CST (Certified Service Technician)
- HVAC Excellence Certification (or a desire to earn it)
Physical Requirements
- Maintain balance when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces
- Bend, crouch, and move about on foot, including over long distances
- Stand for sustained periods
- Lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force to lift, carry, pull, or move objects
- Pull, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion
- Raise objects from lower to higher positions and move them horizontally
- Press against objects with steady force to push forward, downward, or outward
- Make repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements
- Climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and scaffolding using feet, legs, hands, and arms
