UConn Health Community Network is seeking an experienced Director of Nuclear Medicine to provide clinical and physician leadership for nuclear medicine and molecular imaging services across its community hospital partners.
This hybrid leadership and clinical position combines on-site nuclear medicine and theranostic services with on-site and remote image interpretation. The Director will work closely with the UConn Health Nuclear Medicine Section at John Dempsey Hospital to establish consistent clinical standards, protocols, quality measures, and safety practices across the network.

Full-time preferred; part-time candidates considered
Hybrid clinical and leadership role
Leadership of nuclear medicine, nuclear cardiology, PET/CT, and theranostic services
On-site radiopharmaceutical administration and therapy, including theranostic treatments
Collaboration with UConn Health Nuclear Medicine leadership and community hospital teams
Opportunities to expand PET/CT and radiopharmaceutical therapy services
Participation in weekend general radiology call
Key Responsibilities
Lead and standardize nuclear medicine and molecular imaging services across community sites.
Oversee protocols, quality, regulatory compliance, radiation safety, and accreditation.
Perform and oversee diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceutical services.
Interpret nuclear medicine, PET/CT, and general diagnostic radiology examinations.
Collaborate with oncology, endocrinology, urology, and other referring services.
Provide education and competency oversight for nuclear medicine technologists and clinical staff.
Develop referral pathways and coordinate complex nuclear medicine and theranostic care with UConn Health.
Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency
Appropriate fellowship training and board certification in Diagnostic Radiology and/or Nuclear Medicine
Significant clinical experience in nuclear medicine, PET/CT, and radiopharmaceutical therapy
Eligibility for UConn community faculty appointment
Connecticut medical license or eligibility
Eligibility for appropriate medical staff privileges
Qualifications to serve as an Authorized User for radioactive materials
Strong clinical, leadership, communication, and collaborative skills
