Special Education Teacher - Petersburg, TX

This contract position offers the chance to work with a diverse caseload of 25-30 students, while overseeing the support of six paraprofessionals. The assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through the end of May 2027, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule (37.5 hours per week).

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for crafting and implementing individualized education plans, attending ARD meetings, documenting progress, and fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment. Your expertise will help shape early academic success for students with unique needs.

Qualifications:

• Active Texas Special Education Teacher License
• Experience with PreK-1st grade age group preferred
• Strong background in IEP development, progress reporting, and ARD meeting participation
• Leadership skills and ability to manage, guide, and mentor a team of paraprofessionals

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary special education teacher for a caseload of 25-30 students
• Write and update IEPs, track student progress, and complete required documentation
• Attend and meaningfully contribute to ARD meetings
• Supervise and support six paraprofessionals, fostering teamwork and effective student support
