This is an excellent opportunity for an HSE professional with experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or construction environment who enjoys both administrative responsibilities and hands-on safety initiatives.

Develop safety meeting topics and assist with conducting safety meetings, drills, and required employee training.
Create safety communications and educational materials to increase employee awareness and engagement.
Assist the HSE Manager with workplace accident, injury, incident, and near-miss investigations.
Help maintain compliance with Cal/OSHA, OSHA, and applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and work with employees and managers to correct identified safety hazards.
Administer hazardous materials and hazardous waste programs, including waste minimization and proper disposal procedures.
Support response and coordination related to hazardous material spills or incidents.
Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and safety training databases.
Coordinate and administer required safety and compliance training.
Review employee safety concerns and hazard reports and assist in identifying appropriate corrective actions.
Maintain HSE documentation and records in both electronic and hard-copy formats.
Assist with workers' compensation claims and OSHA 300 logs.
Support the company's Safety Committee and Emergency Response Team, including meetings, documentation, and updates to safety and emergency plans.
Maintain third-party administrator and compliance accounts, including ISNetworld, Avetta, OSCA, DISA, Browz, and Appruv, and assist with related audits.
Prepare required environmental and waste-related reports.
Stay informed of changes in workplace safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements and assist with implementing necessary updates.
Perform additional HSE-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Associate degree or completion of approximately two years of college required.
2-3 years of HSE, safety, environmental, or related experience, preferably within a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment.
Working knowledge of occupational health, workplace safety, and environmental regulations.
Experience with Cal/OSHA and OSHA regulations preferred.
Experience maintaining safety documentation, training records, or compliance databases is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong computer skills and ability to maintain accurate electronic records and databases.
Ability to interpret safety procedures, policies, regulations, and written instructions.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex situations.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently while also contributing to a team environment.
Ability to build professional working relationships with employees, management, and external partners.
Continuous-improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to strengthen safety processes.
Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a strong attendance record.
Reliable transportation and ability to be physically present at the workplace as scheduled.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to work in a primarily office-based environment while periodically conducting indoor and outdoor facility inspections.
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods throughout an 8-hour workday.
Ability to regularly use a computer and standard office equipment.
Occasional walking, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching may be required.
Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 pounds.
Must have sufficient vision and hearing, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform essential job responsibilities.
Position may involve minimal exposure to manufacturing or industrial conditions, including noise, dust, fumes, odors, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
Certain chemicals identified by the State of California as potentially causing cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm may be present at the worksite.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys being the organizational backbone of a safety department while also being comfortable interacting with employees on the floor. You are detail-oriented, proactive, comfortable maintaining compliance documentation, and able to effectively communicate safety expectations across multiple levels of an organization.
