Pharmacy Technician - Chicago, Illinois

Join an outpatient pharmacy setting in Chicago as a Pharmacy Technician supporting retail operations. This contract to hire opportunity offers a Monday through Friday daytime schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing consistent hours and a focused environment to apply your skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately process medication orders and prescriptions, ensuring proper packaging and dispensing of dosage forms.
• Utilize Pioneer RX system for medication preparation, storage, and dispensing while adhering strictly to pharmacy policies related to cart fill, unit dose distribution, medication labeling, controlled substance reconciliation, and pharmaceutical purchasing.
• Support pharmacists by assisting in patient, physician, and nursing education efforts.
• Retrieve timely and accurate drug information to assist pharmacists.
• Collect patient-specific data to aid pharmacists in designing, monitoring, and modifying pharmacotherapy for safe, effective, and economical care.
• Assist in clinical pharmacokinetic data collection, including creatinine clearance calculations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
• Experience in hospital outpatient pharmacy settings.
• Familiarity with pharmacy insurance claims processing.
• Valid Illinois pharmacy technician license.
