Job Description

This role focuses on operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to support shipping, receiving, picking, and inventory activities in a warehouse environment. You load and unload trailers, move and stage product, replenish and stack materials, and ensure orders are accurately picked, packaged, and prepared for shipment. You count and inspect product, report damages or discrepancies, and follow established Standard Operating Procedures to meet performance, safety, and quality objectives. The position requires safe and efficient equipment operation, adherence to all policies and safety rules, and flexibility to perform additional warehouse duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Use gas or electric powered forklifts to load outbound shipments, move product within the warehouse, and stack products or materials according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Efficiently and accurately load orders into the appropriate doors and trailers, ensuring correct placement and secure loading for shipping.
  • Use gas or electric powered forklifts to unload inbound shipments, move, replenish, stack, and store products or materials in designated storage areas.
  • Locate and place products in the correct storage locations, maintaining organized and accurate inventory placement as defined by Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to accurately pick orders and fulfill client demands, ensuring correct quantities and items are selected.
  • Stage picked products in the appropriate areas and stack, package, band, shrink wrap, and label products according to client requirements and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Use appropriate documentation to ensure all products and orders are received, handled, and shipped correctly, following established quality control processes.
  • Verify that products and orders meet quality standards, including checking for and reporting any damages, discrepancies, or other issues to leadership.
  • Stack, package, shrink wrap, and label products in line with quality control requirements and company standards.
  • Execute all safety protocols and perform job tasks in a manner that promotes a safe work environment for yourself and others.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the facility, including keeping a clean, neat, and orderly work area and assisting in overall warehouse security.
  • Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS standards at all times.
  • Operate a variety of warehouse equipment, which may include sit-down and stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, sweeper scrubbers, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, Aisle Master trucks, and pallet jacks.
  • Perform daily inspections and minor maintenance on forklifts and other equipment to ensure they remain in safe working condition.
  • Report equipment problems promptly and support the upkeep of all material handling equipment used in the warehouse.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner, following prescribed work methods and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain an active forklift certification and adhere to all requirements related to equipment operation.
  • Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Count and inspect product during shipping, receiving, and picking activities, ensuring accuracy of quantities and item identification.
  • Use RF scanners and other inventory tools to scan, move, stage, replenish, and stack product, maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Notify leadership when product damages, discrepancies, or other issues are identified during handling or inspection.
  • Work overtime as dictated by business needs, including mandatory overtime when required.
  • Perform other warehouse duties as assigned to support overall operations and meet company performance, safety, and quality objectives.

Essential Skills

  • Proven ability to operate gas or electric powered forklifts safely and efficiently in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Experience with material handling tasks such as loading, unloading, moving, staging, replenishing, and stacking product.
  • Demonstrated competence in shipping and receiving activities, including handling outbound and inbound shipments in accordance with procedures.
  • Ability to perform accurate order picking using forklifts and other equipment to fulfill client demands.
  • Skill in stacking, packaging, banding, shrink wrapping, and labeling products to meet client and company requirements.
  • Experience using RF scanners for scanning, inventory tracking, and product movement within the warehouse.
  • Capability to count and inspect product accurately and identify damages or discrepancies during shipping, receiving, and picking.
  • Strong commitment to safety, including consistent execution of safety protocols and adherence to OSHA/MSDS standards.
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and comply with corporate and site-specific policies and safety rules.
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program and maintenance of active forklift certification.
  • Ability to operate various material handling equipment such as sit-down and stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, sweeper scrubbers, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, Aisle Master trucks, and pallet jacks.
  • Reliability in performing daily equipment inspections and minor maintenance to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Capacity to work overtime as required by business needs.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, quality control checks, and inventory handling.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $23.50/hr.
