Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or equivalent state credentials
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Deaf or Hard of Hearing students, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong understanding of Deaf culture, American Sign Language, and assistive technology
  • Ability to adapt lessons and materials for diverse student needs
  • Exceptional communication skills for collaboration with teachers, staff, parents, and students

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver individualized lessons and accommodations based on student IEPs
  • Support student participation in general education settings through consultation and direct instruction
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure access and equity for all students
  • Monitor and track student progress, making data-driven adjustments to instruction
  • Provide professional development and resources for school staff on Deaf/Hard of Hearing topics
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for students and families
