About this role

Join a hands-on construction crew in Davidson, NC building and installing concrete formwork for footings, slabs, walls, columns, piers, ramps and steps. This role focuses on precise layout, cutting and assembling wood, metal and plastic forms and supporting concrete placement on commercial projects. You will read blueprints and shop drawings, handle materials and rebar, set and brace forms, erect scaffolding/rigging, observe pours for alignment and stability, and follow strict safety procedures. Work is outdoors, often at heights, and requires frequent out-of-town travel and a reliable, safety-first approach.

What you'll do
  • Build, assemble and erect wood, metal and plastic concrete forms for footings, slabs, walls, columns, piers, ramps and steps according to drawings
  • Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings; measure and cut materials to specified dimensions and tolerances
  • Place and brace forms, install spreaders, tie rods and fasteners; align forms to elevation using level and plumb
  • Assist with placing, cutting and tying rebar, welded wire fabric and bar supports inside forms
  • Erect scaffolding and rigging as needed and direct crane lifts using standard hand signals
  • Observe concrete pours, monitor form stability, make adjustments, and remove forms after cure

What we're looking for
  • Proven experience building and installing concrete formwork on commercial or civil projects
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, layout drawings and basic shop details
  • Skilled with hand and power tools; precise measuring and cutting to tight tolerances
  • Comfort working outdoors, at heights, in variable weather, and traveling out of town frequently
  • Strong teamwork and clear verbal communication with foremen, operators and other trades
  • Commitment to follow OSHA, site safety plans and local building codes at all times

Qualifications
  • OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour preferred
  • First Aid / CPR certification preferred
  • Powder-actuated tool, aerial lift, and material handler certifications desirable
  • Valid driver's license preferred and ability to travel for projects
  • High school diploma, GED, or vocational/apprenticeship training preferred
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, wear fall protection and stand for long periods
