Special Education Teacher in Avon, CO

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Previous experience or strong interest in working with elementary-age students
• Familiarity with mild/moderate disabilities and appropriate instructional strategies
• Strong collaboration skills for working with general education teachers, therapists, and families
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support for students in a mild/moderate special education classroom
• Adapt and modify educational materials to meet the diverse needs of the caseload (approximately 20 students)
• Case manage IEPs: conduct meetings, maintain records, and facilitate meaningful, measurable student goals
• Collaborate regularly with fellow educators, staff, and families to support student success
• Collect data and assess student progress to guide instructional decisions
• Maintain a positive, organized, and nurturing classroom environment

Position Details:

• Full-time contract; 40 hours per week
• School schedule: Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 7:40am–2:50pm; Wednesdays from 8:40am–2:50pm
• Elementary grade levels, onsite only (virtual placements not considered)
• Start date as soon as possible, with the contract running through late May
• Competitive compensation: $82.58 per hour
