Special Education Teacher in Torrance, CA

Seeking skilled Special Education Teachers eager to make a meaningful difference in a supportive school environment. This contract opportunity based in Manhattan Beach, CA runs from ASAP through June 10th, 2027, with full-time Monday through Friday hours. Two positions are available, each serving specialized day classes (SDC) with moderate to severe caseloads: one for grades TK-1 and another for grades 2-5, each supporting 5-6 students.

Qualifications:

• Valid and active CA teaching credential in moderate/severe special education (required)
• Proven experience working with elementary-aged students with moderate to severe disabilities
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and behavioral management
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Commitment to individualized student success

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
• Deliver engaging instruction and support within small, specialized classrooms
• Collaborate with related service providers, general education staff, and families
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to best meet student abilities and learning styles
• Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation
• Foster an inclusive, safe, and nurturing environment to promote student growth
