Location: Bloomington, MN 55425 - Onsite
Pay Rate: $45-$50 per hour (Pay is dependent on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (Hybrid after training)
Duration: Starting off as a 3-Month Contract, but could extend
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Medication Refill RN to support a clinical team in Bloomington, MN. This position will focus on reviewing and processing patient requests for GLP-1 medication refills, including medications prescribed for diabetes and weight management.
The ideal candidate will have experience with clinic medication refill processes, EPIC, and working with insurance companies. Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and communication skills are essential for coordinating refill requests and ensuring patients receive timely and appropriate support.
Key Responsibilities
Review and process patient requests for GLP-1 medication refills, including medications used for diabetes and weight management.
Utilize EPIC to review patient charts, medication history, recent visits, laboratory results, and provider documentation prior to processing refills.
Assess refill requests for completeness and identify clinical information that may require provider review or follow-up.
Communicate with prescribing providers regarding refill requests, medication changes, dosing questions, and patient concerns.
Coordinate with pharmacies and patients to resolve prescription issues, refill delays, prior authorization requirements, and medication availability.
Work with insurance companies to address coverage, authorization, and medication-related questions as needed.
Monitor adherence to established clinical protocols and ensure refill requests are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
Document patient communications, refill activities, and clinical follow-up appropriately in EPIC.
Provide patients with education regarding medication use, dosing, administration, and the importance of follow-up care as directed by the provider.
Maintain patient confidentiality and follow established clinical, organizational, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Active RN license required.
Experience with clinic medication refill processes required.
Experience working with EPIC required.
Experience working with insurance companies required.
Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent communication and patient-service skills.
Ability to review medical records and identify information requiring provider follow-up.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple refill requests efficiently.
Ability to work collaboratively with providers, pharmacies, patients, and insurance representatives.
Commitment to accurate documentation, patient safety, and timely follow-up.
