Operations Manager - Logistics & Distribution Operations

Location: Sacramento, CA
Job Type: Direct Hire (Contract Assignment)
Compensation: Up to $120,000 Annually + Retention Bonus

About the Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Operations Managers to support a large-scale logistics and distribution operation in the Sacramento area. This leadership role will oversee day-to-day warehouse and cross-dock operations, drive operational performance, develop high-performing teams, and ensure the efficient movement of freight throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day warehouse and distribution operations
• Manage staffing, workforce planning, and labor utilization
• Monitor productivity, service levels, and operational KPIs
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies
• Coach, develop, and lead supervisors and operational teams
• Ensure compliance with safety, security, and company policies
• Support inventory flow, shipping, receiving, and freight movement activities
• Identify and resolve operational challenges while maintaining customer service standards
• Partner with leadership to achieve operational goals and performance targets
• Maintain accurate reporting and operational documentation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, or supply chain environments
• Experience leading large teams in fast-paced operational environments
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience managing productivity, staffing, and operational performance metrics
• Knowledge of continuous improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, or operational excellence practices preferred
• Experience with ERP, WMS, SAP, or similar operational systems preferred
• Strong Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while driving results
