Job Description

We are seeking a Production Operator to join our team at Purina Animal Nutrition. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in industrial production environments, safe equipment operation, and material handling and a proven ability to follow standard operating procedures, meet production targets, and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities:

• Follow all safety policies and procedures and maintain situational awareness on the production floor.
• Perform repetitive machine or process operations per prescribed routines and work instructions.
• Make basic process or machinery adjustments as directed by supervisors or leads.
• Operate equipment including manual bag lifting/stacking, pallet jack/handcart, and packing operations.
• Record and report production numbers when assigned.
• Maintain housekeeping and cleaning standards in work areas.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong work ethic and reliability with punctual shift start at 6:00 a.m.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Effective communication in one-on-one and group settings with solid interpersonal skills.
• Ability to understand, record, and verbalize detailed information accurately with strong attention to detail.
• Basic math skills for counts, weights, and production records.
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with packing operations and manual material handling.

Schedule and Work Environment

• Mon-Fri, 1st Shift, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (10-hour shift with 30-minute lunch).
• Steel toe boots or safety-toed shoes required. Hearing protection required in some areas.
• Environment may be hot in summer and cold in winter. Some areas have elevated noise levels. Dusty in certain areas (feed mill).

Role Type and Advancement

• Contract role with potential for full-time hire or contract extension based on performance and business need.
