Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Survey Crew Chief to conduct boundary, topographic, ALTA surveys, and construction layouts. The role involves overseeing and operating a one-person crew, using advanced surveying equipment and technology.

Responsibilities

• Conduct boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys, as well as construction layouts.
• Operate and manage a one-person survey crew effectively.
• Utilize and operate survey equipment such as the Trimble robotic instruments.
• Download and upload survey data to the appropriate files in the computer network or field data collector.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of land surveying experience.
• Proficiency in operating survey equipment such as the Trimble robotic instruments.
• Experience in running a one-person crew.
• Valid driver's license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of GPS equipment is preferred.

Work Environment

The Survey Crew Chief will primarily work independently, driving to project sites across Northeast Illinois. A company vehicle is provided for commuting to job sites and returning home each day. The role involves minimal office presence and offers a flexible schedule tailored to individual needs. The company values internal promotions and provides opportunities for career advancement.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Downers Grove, IL.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
