Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support a long-term care pharmacy operation in Attleboro, MA. This contract position spans approximately 6 to 8 weeks with the possibility of conversion if the candidate proves to be a strong fit. The schedule primarily consists of shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional support needed for 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flexibility in shift timing is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal requirements.
- Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of over-usage.
- Maintain patient confidentiality through precise record-keeping and management of pharmacy files.
- Provide consultations to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
- Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
- Compound medications for internal or external use and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, ensuring efficient pharmacy operations.
- Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts pharmacist license (must have license in hand).
- Experience in retail pharmacy is acceptable; training will be provided as needed.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse healthcare teams.
