Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Travel)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Telemetry/Med-Surg overflow unit serving adult and geriatric populations
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry data; apply EKG interpretation skills to identify changes in patient condition
• Manage patient admissions and discharges efficiently within a 5:1 or 6:1 patient ratio environment
• Administer and monitor basic cardiac drips and IV therapy using Baxter IV pumps
• Utilize Meditech EMR to document patient care accurately and in a timely manner
• Float as needed and participate in weekend rotation (every other or every third weekend, 12 hours)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience in a Med-Surg or Telemetry setting
• Associate degree in Nursing required
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible as a travel candidate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN preferred
• Experience with Meditech EMR
• Strong EKG interpretation and critical thinking skills
• Familiarity with common diagnoses including CHF, COPD, ARF, CKD, uncontrolled diabetes, and post-cardiac cath care
