Product Development Engineer

Pay Range: $70,000 to $120,000 DOE + Profit Sharing + Robust Benefits
Location: Fort Collins, CO

How you'll spend your time as a Product Development Engineer:

• Design components, assemblies, and machine systems using CAD tools.
• Develop new products and improve existing product performance and reliability.
• Create and maintain 3D models, drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Design sheet metal, fabricated, and machined components for production.
• Build and refine prototypes using fabrication, machining, and welding processes.
• Plan and conduct tests to validate function, durability, and performance.
• Inspect components and assemblies using appropriate measurement tools.
• Partner with manufacturing to release designs and resolve production issues.
• Integrate mechanical, electrical, and control components.
• Own assigned projects and contribute to continuous improvement.

Skills & experience we'd like you to have as a Product Development Engineer:

• 5+ years of mechanical or product design engineering experience.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and engineering drawings (SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong foundation in mechanical engineering and machine design.
• Understanding of sheet metal design, forming, joining, and tolerances.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, fabrication, welding, or machining.
• Experience maintaining BOMs and supporting engineering changes through release.
• Ability to diagnose failures, identify root causes, and validate fixes.
• Ability to develop test plans and solve mechanical design problems.
• Experience designing equipment, industrial machinery, or similar products preferred.
• Experience with FEA or CFD is a plus.
• Electromechanical design experience with motors, sensors, and controls is a plus.
• Strong organizational and communication skills across departments.
• Detail oriented, with a passion for quality and hands-on development.
