Your day, safeguarding every minuteYou arrive before the first permit is signed. You review the Attendant Checklist, test your instruments, and position yourself at the single, designated entry point. As Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) crews gear up, you verify authorization, log each entrant, and maintain clear English communication at all times. Throughout the job, you continuously assess hazards in and around the space, track atmospheric readings, and ensure ventilation is functioning as intended. You never leave your post without proper relief, you block unauthorized entry, and you focus solely on watch duties—ready to alert, escalate, and summon rescue the moment conditions change.
What you'll handle- Verify authorized entrants, manage sign-in/sign-out logs, and stay in continuous communication.
- Understand the hazards of the specific space and adjacent activities that may affect it.
- Monitor only one entry portal at a time and remain stationed outside until properly relieved.
- Follow the requirements of the Attendant Checklist; avoid any task that could distract from watch duties.
- Prevent unauthorized entry and maintain clear boundaries at the access point.
- Understand the function of atmospheric monitoring instruments and ventilation equipment.
- Continuously monitor conditions to keep confined space operations safe and compliant.
- Complete all required documentation and safety checklists accurately.
- Immediately alert entrants and/or supervision to any emergency situation and summon rescue when needed.
- Support safe, compliant confined space practices across the Integrated Supply Chain environment.
- Industrial/manufacturing experience.
- Consistent adherence to safety protocols and strong teamwork.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to read, write, and speak clearly in English.
- Skill in observing and maintaining communication with authorized entrants.
- Working knowledge of confined space hazards and surrounding work activities.
- Background as a Hole Watch or Confined Space Attendant.
- Experience overseeing confined space operations.
- Familiarity with atmospheric monitoring instruments.
- Knowledge of ventilation systems.
- Exposure to emergency or rescue procedures.
- Experience completing safety documentation and checklists.
- Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
