Job Description
Structural Steel Fabrication Welder

Location: Louisville, KY
Schedule: 1st Shift, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday–Friday

A day in the shop

The doors roll up at 6 a.m. You grab the day’s blueprints, confirm dimensions with a quick tape measure check, set up your welding station, and strike your first arc. By mid-morning, you’re fitting components to tight tolerances and running clean, consistent beads. After lunch, you’re inspecting welds, troubleshooting with a teammate, and coaching a junior fabricator through a tricky fit-up. Before 2:30 p.m., you leave your area spotless—tools maintained, materials organized, and safety boxes checked.

What you’ll do
  • Translate blueprints, drawings, and specs into precise, build-ready plans.
  • Perform fabrication and welding with appropriate processes to meet quality requirements.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and related tools while following safety protocols.
  • Inspect and test welds and assemblies to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Partner with team members to diagnose and resolve fabrication challenges.
  • Keep a clean, orderly work area aligned with safety best practices.
  • Support the development of junior welders/fabricators through on-the-job guidance.
What you’ll bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
  • Hands-on experience as a welder/fabricator in manufacturing or construction settings.
  • Solid understanding of welding methods, materials, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Keen attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Physical stamina and strength to handle welding tasks and heavy materials.
