Compensation: $90,000–$95,000
A Day in This RoleMorning: you open a fresh set of drawings, mark up key scopes, and translate specs into quantities. Midday: you’re on the phone with suppliers and subcontractors, validating pricing and clarifying scope. Afternoon: you consolidate numbers, stress-test assumptions, and brief project managers and stakeholders on risks, opportunities, and schedule impacts. Throughout the day, you log data in our project management platform to keep estimates traceable and up to date.
What You’ll Tackle- Study blueprints, specifications, and plans to derive accurate takeoffs.
- Build detailed estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and indirect costs.
- Surface variables that influence price, productivity, and schedule feasibility.
- Solicit, compare, and track vendor and subcontractor quotations; maintain bid files.
- Foster strong relationships with vendors, subs, clients, and architects to sharpen pricing and scope clarity.
- Capture scope, quantities, and cost data in project management software for full visibility.
- Present pricing and assumptions to leadership and project stakeholders.
- Reconcile estimates with actuals post-award; keep meticulous cost records.
- Partner with Project Managers on bid strategy and schedule development.
- Pitch in on related tasks as needs evolve.
- Fluency reading technical documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Analytical rigor, exceptional organization, and close attention to detail.
- Crisp written and spoken communication in English.
- Professional presence—confident, courteous, and client-ready.
- Strong prioritization and time management under deadlines.
- Clear, tactful communication across teams and partners.
- Drive to master our project management software and related tools.
This position involves regular communication and computer/document-based work, with frequent use of hands for handling tools, controls, and materials. Employees may occasionally stand, walk, sit, reach, and lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds. The position requires near and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
