Job Description
Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) | $105,000–$135,000/yr | Bellevue Post Acute | Bellevue, WA
Lead with the DON, shape the care, and grow your leadership career.
At Bellevue Post Acute, our ADON is a true partner to the Director of Nursing and a hands-on leader for the entire nursing team. You'll drive quality, keep us survey-ready, guide admissions and Medicare programs, and develop the nurses who care for our residents every day. If you're an RN ready to step into (or grow in) nursing leadership, this is a role where your work is visible and your voice matters.
What You'll Do
Partner with the DON on daily operations, including resident status, census, staffing, budget, and personnel
Review 24-hour reports daily and lead timely responses to changes in condition, incidents, medication errors, and family concerns
Round on all shifts to observe care, review records, and talk with staff, residents, and families
Lead the infection control program, track surveillance trends, and report to the QAPI committee
Drive quality assurance activities and compliance rounds, analyze trends, and put improvement plans into action
Oversee the admissions process: review and approve admissions, weigh acuity, and match staffing to need
Build strong relationships with hospital discharge planners to support referrals and census
Manage the Medicare/PPS program, including eligibility, utilization review, MDS oversight, and the monthly Medicare Triple Check
Help the DON prepare for and manage state surveys, including leading staff and gathering documentation while surveyors are onsite
Develop staffing plans, interview and hire nurses, conduct performance reviews, and handle corrective action
Oversee in-service education so the nursing team stays skilled and confident
Provide on-call nursing leadership support, or designate qualified coverage
Step in as Charge Nurse when needed
Why Work Here
A leadership role with real authority and a direct line to the DON and Administrator
A clear path toward Director of Nursing for leaders who want to keep growing
A team that values clinical judgment and collaboration across departments
The chance to build a culture where nurses want to stay
A facility in the heart of Bellevue, with easy access to the greater Seattle area
Benefits
$105,000–$135,000/year, based on experience
Medical, dental, and vision insurance
Paid time off
401(k)
What You'll Need
Current, active Washington State RN license
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
At least 1 year of long-term care or geriatric nursing experience
Ability to supervise and direct nursing staff and resident care
Working knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations
Working knowledge of MDS/RAI, Medicare/PPS, and payer sources (Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, private, hospice)
Strong communication and leadership skills with staff, residents, families, and outside agencies
Work Location: 2424 156th Ave. NE, Bellevue, WA 98007
