Summary
We’re hiring a Senior Software Test Engineer to help build and run automated test solutions for mission-critical software. You’ll work closely with developers and other engineers to improve product quality through smart test strategy, strong test execution, and clear documentation.
Must have:
- Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Candidate should have 12+ years of relevant technical experience with BS degree or 10+ with MS degree.
- Candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
- Relevant technical experience must include testing and/or troubleshooting embedded software or embedded-adjacent applications that interface with, operate, monitor, support, simulate, control, or communicate with embedded systems.
- Must be a resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to the Huntsville-North Alabama area.
- Experience leading, mentoring, or providing technical direction to software test teams on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Have a proven track record of implementing automated software testing principles on embedded systems.
- Candidate must demonstrate advanced competency in software development in either C#/.NET, C, C++, Java, Python, or Ruby programming languages.
- The ability to work across multiple products under development by multiple small teams.
- Knowledge of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) principles and application
- Experience with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices technology.
- Knowledge of guidance & control algorithms.
- Knowledge of navigation systems.
- Knowledge of mission planning systems (NOMS, JMPS).
- Knowledge of sensors used in guidance, navigation, or mission planning systems.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML.
- Understanding of hardware-software integration and software systems engineering principles
- Agile Scrum Master experience a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present to senior leadership and government customers.
- Formal experience in an official test-team leadership role (e.g., Test Lead, QA Manager, IPT Lead) with people-management responsibilities.
