Williamsville Suburban, is seeking to hire an Assistant Food Service Director to aid the Food Service Director in overseeing the daily food service operations within our facility. We are seeking a talented candidate that will serve in a role that requires a dynamic supportive employee to assist in the management of a diverse team while ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The Ideal candidate will have experience in a skilled nursing facility

Responsibilities

• Assists the Food Service Manage in all aspects of food service operations, including staffing, training, and performance management.

• Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation.

• Assists in the overseeing of inventory control processes to maintain adequate stock levels while minimizing waste.

• Help in the development and implementation of menus that cater to preferences and dietary requirements of the clients of the facility

• Monitor client’s feedback to continuously improve service quality and dining experience.

• Collaborate with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients at competitive prices.

• Conduct staff training, quality control, and in-service sessions; perform roles of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher as needed

• Use protective gear, ensure safe mixing and use of cleaning solutions, and report equipment needs or malfunctions promptly

•  Follow infection control, universal precautions, and handwashing procedures to maintain a sanitary environment

• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in food service management or hospitality, including food service or restaurant management coursework preferred.

• Two years of experience in quantity food production/service and personnel supervision preferred.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies

• Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods.

• Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.

• Basic computer skills with the ability to maintain records and complete reports as required, including web-based reporting.

• May be required to complete an approved sanitation and safety course.
