General Partner Corporate & Business Development

We are looking for a business-generating General Partner with 8+ years of practice experience to join a top-tier boutique law firm in West LA and build or expand a practice on a platform designed for originators. Sklar Kirsh LLP — ranked Tier 1 in Corporate & M&A by The Legal 500 — co-counsels with Skadden and regularly works opposite Latham, Cooley, and Dentons, offering sophisticated deal work without the BigLaw overhead.

What will you be doing?

• Originating and expanding client relationships as the primary relationship partner across Corporate, Real Estate Finance, IP, Employment, or adjacent practice areas
• Leading matters end-to-end — from term sheet through closing — running lean, high-performing teams with direct partner access
• Cross-selling across the firm's practice groups and integrating your clients into the wider platform
• Serving as the senior point of contact for clients and opposing counsel on complex transactions
• Mentoring associates and contributing to the strategic growth of the firm

Key Requirements

• Portable book of business of at least $500K (ideally $800K–$1M+)
• Proven track record as a strong business originator — not solely service work on inherited relationships
• Active California bar membership (or willingness to join)
• Currently a Partner at a reputable law firm with 8+ years of practice
• Entrepreneurial, collaborative personality suited to a high-trust boutique environment
