Job Description
We are looking to add a Assembly Technician I to join our team. In this role you will support the assembly, integration, inspection, and testing of products and assemblies using established manufacturing procedures and work instructions. This role contributes to manufacturing operations by producing quality hardware, supporting production activities, and learning manufacturing processes to ensure products satisfy engineering, manufacturing, and quality requirements.
Working cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, quality, production control, and supply chain teams, this role supports manufacturing activities throughout the production lifecycle.
- Assemble mechanical and electrical components, subassemblies, and products using approved work instructions, drawings, and manufacturing procedures.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, production equipment, and test equipment supporting manufacturing activities.
- Perform routine production tasks while maintaining established quality and productivity standards.
- Perform basic visual and dimensional inspections using measuring equipment and inspection tools.
- Verify completed assemblies meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Record production, inspection, and traceability information in manufacturing documentation.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, production control, and supply chain teams supporting production activities.
- Support material handling, workstation organization, equipment preparation, and inventory accuracy.
- Communicate production status, quality concerns, and equipment issues to supervisors and team members.
- Follow manufacturing procedures, safety requirements, quality standards, and company policies.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas while supporting 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Recommend improvements that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Associate degree, technical certification, formal occupational training, military training, or equivalent hands-on experience in manufacturing technology, industrial technology, electronics technology, mechanical technology, or a related technical field preferred. Less than 1 year of related experience in manufacturing, production assembly, mechanical assembly, electronics assembly, or related production operations.
- Foundational knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, and engineering drawings.
- Basic understanding of quality standards, inspection techniques, and safe manufacturing practices.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and manufacturing documentation.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing documentation, material handling, and production procedures.
- Applies attention to detail and sound judgment while supporting manufacturing operations.
- Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Manufacturing equipment, test equipment, and production systems used to support assembly and manufacturing operations.
- Manufacturing execution systems (MES), ERP systems, and electronic work instruction applications, e.g. Epicor, SAP, Solumina, or equivalent applications
