Responsibilities
- Provide basic and advanced respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients as ordered by the physician and in accordance with department policy
- Administer aerosol therapy and oxygen therapy; monitor patient response and adjust treatment as needed
- Perform arterial blood gas collection and analysis per policy and physician orders
- Manage respiratory care for ventilated patients, including setup, monitoring, and weaning as appropriate
- Complete documentation in electronic medical records, flow sheets, and charge sheets; assist with department record keeping
- Support and educate nursing staff on patient surveillance, equipment, and therapy goals; participate in training of new staff as assigned
- Perform drainage procedures and contribute to assessments of pulmonary progress and therapy effectiveness

Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy program
- Licensure/Certification: Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential
- BLS certification from an approved vendor per AH policy
- NRP, ACLS, and PALS certification from approved vendors per AH policy, required at time of hire or within 90 days of start
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS; AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS; AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS (as applicable)
- AHA/BLS facility-specific requirements: Basic Life Support per AH policy
- Minimum of two years of recent respiratory therapy experience
- Experience with Labor and Delivery and Pediatric patient populations
- Current nursing license per the state of assignment
