What You'll Do

As a Penske Technician I, you'll help keep vehicles safe, reliable, and road-ready while performing maintenance and repairs with minimal supervision.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on truck and trailer equipment
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair major components, including engines, transmissions, and differentials
  • Replace major assemblies, turbochargers, fuel system components, and other parts as needed
  • Perform major and minor mechanical repairs
  • Conduct road tests to diagnose and verify vehicle performance
  • Use diagnostic equipment and Penske technology to research, document, and complete repairs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Help mentor and support other technicians
  • Participate in ongoing technical training
  • Complete additional projects and duties as assigned



Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of practical experience maintaining trucks and tractor-trailers
  • Must be a Certified Mechanic under Hawaii law or a Registered Mechanic grandfathered in under applicable statute
  • CDL Class A or Class B is highly preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting major components, including engines, transmissions, and differentials
  • OEM training, ASE certifications, and 608/609 certifications preferred
  • Proficiency using diagnostic equipment, welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills
  • Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
  • Ability to follow Penske policies, DOT and OSHA regulations, and established safety procedures
  • Reliable and predictable attendance
