OEI (O’Brien Engineering & Architecture) is seeking a full-time Senior Mechanical Controls Design Engineer/PE with 10+ years of experience to join our team. The Senior Mechanical Engineer/PE will focus primarily on the design of Department of Defense (DoD) and federal projects, including medical/government facilities, retail/commercial spaces, and institutional facilities, using Revit and AutoCAD software.This position will collaborate with a multidisciplinary A/E team and work on a variety of projects, including municipal, land development, private, industrial, healthcare, military/defense, and other projects. - Building system concepts and documentation process from schematics through construction administration phases. Design mechanical systems, air and water side and related controls.Supervise the installation of the designed systems and equipment.Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and design analyses.Attend client meetings and represent the mechanical interests of the firm.Effective written and verbal communication skills, time management required.This role will require occasional travel to project sites.
Senior Mechanical Controls Design Engineer/PE Qualifications:
- 10+ years of Mechanical design experience required.6+ years of Department of Defense (DOD) design experience (preferred)Minimum of 5 projects as DOR/EOR. Proficiency in understanding building codes and standards.Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing codes and standards: UPC, IPC, IMC, NFPA, ASHRAE & IBC.Experience with central plants, hydronic, steam/ VRF and energy recovery systems.Possess general working knowledge of different mechanical systems; stay up to date on industry advancements including best-practices for applicability.Proficiency in Autodesk Revit.Experience with Bluebeam PDF software (preferred).Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas (or license in another state with the ability and commitment to obtain Texas license within 12 months.), LEED accreditation (preferred).
