MACHINIST / CNC OPERATOR
Pay Rate: Up to $25.00 per hour
Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Machinist / CNC Operator to set up and operate CNC machinery used to manufacture precision metal components. The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of hands-on CNC machining experience, strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read engineering drawings and work instructions, and experience using precision measuring equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC machines to manufacture metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Load and unload raw materials, fixtures, tooling, and completed parts.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and machining instructions.
  • Select and install appropriate cutting tools, inserts, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Make tool-offset and machine adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
  • Monitor machine operation, cutting conditions, tool wear, and production cycles.
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Identify dimensional or quality issues and make appropriate adjustments or notify the supervisor.
  • Deburr, clean, and finish machined components as required.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures.
  • Work effectively with supervisors, engineers, quality personnel, and other machinists/operators.
Required Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong understanding of basic machining principles, mathematics, and tolerances.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
  • Ability to safely handle metal components and operate industrial machinery.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CNC mills and/or CNC lathes.
  • Experience with FANUC, Mazak, or similar CNC controls.
  • Experience performing CNC machine setups.
  • Experience making tool-offset adjustments.
  • Knowledge of GD&T.
  • Experience machining large or precision metal components.
  • Technical school, machining certification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move materials and finished components as required.
  • Ability to work around industrial machinery, metalworking equipment, coolants, and machining operations.
  • Ability to wear required PPE.
  • Ability to work overtime as production requirements dictate.
