Job Description
The Maintenance Technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on minimizing equipment downtime, supporting production schedules, and ensuring all maintenance activities comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The technician troubleshoots mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and control system issues and supports equipment changeovers, adjustments, and startups.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
- Execute corrective maintenance and repairs on mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and control system components.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues involving pneumatics, gears, conveyors, and related systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues including three-phase motors and PLC-related problems.
- Support equipment changeovers, adjustments, and startup activities to meet production requirements.
- Complete GMP-compliant maintenance documentation and work orders accurately and on time.
- Participate in root cause investigations for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work and maintain equipment reliability.
- Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working on production equipment.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience performing maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience working on pneumatics, gears, conveyors, and related systems.
- Electrical skills including experience with three-phase motors and basic PLC troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues.
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns in a production setting.
- Capability to complete maintenance documentation and work orders in a GMP-compliant manner.
- Solid understanding of production equipment operation and maintenance requirements.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in pharmaceutical or food manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Background in manufacturing operations or industrial maintenance.
- Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment and automated production systems.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts on rotating schedules, including days, nights, and weekends.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility with production equipment operating on 12-hour shifts. Two primary rotating shift schedules are available: one pattern runs SundayWednesday in the first week and SundayTuesday in the second week, and the other pattern runs WednesdaySaturday in the first week and ThursdaySaturday in the second week. Shifts are either 4:30 a.m.4:30 p.m. or 4:30 p.m.4:30 a.m. Overtime is paid on a daily basis. The work environment involves hands-on maintenance on mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including three-phase motors and PLC-controlled equipment, in a setting that follows GMP standards typical of regulated manufacturing such as pharmaceutical or food production.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
