Shipping & Receiving Clerk - 2nd Shift

CMS is a fast-growing manufacturing company in El Mirage seeking a reliable and self-motivated Shipping and Receiving Clerk for 2nd Shift. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping and receiving, forklift operation, inventory handling, and accurately preparing materials for production and shipment. Candidates must be able to work independently, follow instructions, and adapt to a changing workload in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Receive goods and verify the quality and quantity of items unloaded from trucks and trailers.
• Compare received materials against supplier counts and immediately report discrepancies to the carrier, supervisor, and purchasing department according to company policy.
• Verify and accurately record all items loaded for shipment.
• Maintain accurate shipping records, including goods returned, dunnage, and returnable pallets.
• Maintain shipment data to ensure customer orders are updated and appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting and other departments.
• Notify the supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, shortages, or substitutions.
• Prepare bills of lading and dray tickets for shipments.
• Complete documentation for damage claims involving in-transit shipments.
• Transport materials using hand trucks or other equipment as needed.
• Safely load and unload trucks using a forklift.
• Accurately pull and kit parts to prepare materials for production.
• Read and accurately use a tape measure.
• Perform general clerical and shipping/receiving duties.
• Follow company procedures and instructions with minimal supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Adapt to changing workloads and priorities.
• Work overtime and weekends as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 2 years of Shipping & Receiving experience required.
• 2 years of Forklift experience required.
• Forklift certification or the ability to become certified.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to accurately pull, organize, and kit parts for production.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing workloads and priorities.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
