Job Description
Overview
The Quality Team Leader/Material Handler supports inventory management operations within a fast-paced supply chain and quality environment. This role monitors inventory workflow, evaluates team performance, supports compliance to ISO 9001 standards, and ensures proper control of non-conforming, rejected, and scrap materials.
*THIS ROLE REQUIRES PAID TRAVEL AROUND MI*
The traveling material handler plays a critical role in flex-up operations, material control, layered process auditing (LPA), and customer-specific requirement compliance, contributing directly to total customer satisfaction and continuous improvement initiatives.
The position is partially indoor/partially outdoor and would require traveling inside Michigan. Mileage is compensated 55 Cents per mile.
Cities/Sites this position would support include but are not limited to West Michigan.
Key Responsibilities
- · Execute daily workflow operation and ensure adherence to customer-specific requirements and quality standards
- · Support execution of Quality Planning, Inventory Audits, Pick and Pack operations and material movement
- · Ensure proper segregation, documentation, and control of non-conforming and scrap materials
- Coordinate with logistics to maintain accurate material flow and inventory control
- Perform scrap analysis and reporting
- Safely operate tele-handler to load/unload flatbeds and dry vans in concordance will all safety regulations.
- Assist with Layered Process Audits (LPA)
- Maintain accurate inspection/inventory records in compliance with QMS requirements
- Participate in internal inventory audits and continuous improvement activities
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.
- Solid grasp of inventory audit principles and organized warehousing
- Excellent customer-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and mathematical abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality data reporting.
- Comfortable working in a Lay-down yard (indoor office space/storage areas, outdoor loading/unloading) setting with adherence to safety and quality standards.
Education
- Some Technical training in manufacturing or quality systems preferred.
- Tele-handler certification experience is a plus.
