Position Summary

The Director of Nursing provides strategic and operational leadership for all nursing services within the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and efficient use of resources while fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading nursing teams, ensuring patient care excellence, and utilizing Axxess home health software to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

• Direct, plan, and coordinate all nursing activities and patient care services
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate nursing managers, supervisors, and clinical staff
• Promote a positive work environment that supports teamwork, accountability, and professional growth
• Oversee staff scheduling, ensuring appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios and staff availability.Clinical Quality & Patient Care
• Ensure delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered nursing care
• Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies, procedures, and clinical standards
• Monitor patient outcomes and quality indicators; initiate improvement plans as needed

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission, state boards)
• Prepare for and oversee regulatory surveys, audits, and inspections
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reporting systems.
  
  Axxess Software Utilization:
• Oversee the effective use of Axxess home health software for documentation, scheduling, and reporting.
• Train and support staff on Axxess software functionality, ensuring seamless integration and usage.
• Monitor and ensure accurate clinical documentation and data entry within Axxess, ensuring compliance with all standards.
• Use Axxess to track and analyze patient care metrics, providing reports to leadership to drive decision-making and quality improvement initiatives.

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with physicians, administrators, and interdisciplinary teams
• Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and executive leadership
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and external stakeholders.
  
  Education & Licensure:
• RN or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
• Current RN license in Ohio.

Experience:

• • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in home health care.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Axxess home health software and its clinical applications.
  • Strong understanding of home health regulations, policies, and best practices.
