In this role, you will play a vital part in enhancing residents' quality of life by assisting with daily activities, managing health needs, and creating a safe, nurturing environment. Your energy and positive attitude will help foster independence and dignity for individuals with developmental disabilities, memory care needs, or those requiring senior care. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing valuable caregiving skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and comfort.
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health status is maintained.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication activities using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Support residents with specialized care needs such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or memory care by implementing appropriate behavior management techniques.
- Operate mobility aids including Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers to ensure safety during movement.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and adhering to infection control protocols.
- Document resident progress, incidents, and care activities thoroughly for ongoing communication with healthcare teams.
- Drive residents when needed for appointments or community outings, ensuring safe transportation practices.
- Collaborate with social workers, healthcare professionals, and family members to support comprehensive resident care plans.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home and community care environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia management, and memory care strategies is essential.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or Hoyer lift training are advantageous.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring personal support is desirable.
- Ability to accurately monitor vital signs and recognize signs of health deterioration.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- Valid driver's license for transportation duties; safe driving record required.
- Compassionate attitude combined with patience, flexibility, and a genuine desire to improve residents' well-being.
We also offer paid orientation, paid training, and safety equipment. Join us in creating a caring community where every individual receives respectful support tailored to their unique needs!
