Shift: 1st Shift, 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Pay Rate: $18.00 – $23.31/hour
Job Summary
Manpower is hiring a Repair Technician I for a manufacturing company in Carlsbad, CA. In this role, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, test, and repair electronic equipment returned from the field. The ideal candidate will have basic electronics knowledge, soldering experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to use common hand tools and electronic test equipment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and process equipment returned by customers for repair or exchange.
- Diagnose equipment failures down to the component level.
- Compare troubleshooting findings with reported customer issues.
- Perform rework, modifications, updates, and realignments to restore equipment to working condition.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure it meets specifications.
- Inspect finished products for quality and workmanship standards.
- Document failure codes, repairs, and corrective actions in company systems.
- Identify product or process issues and communicate them to the appropriate supervisor or engineering team.
- Address service and reliability issues as they arise.
- Prepare repair estimates and obtain customer approval when necessary.
- Initiate Engineering Action Requests (EAR) when product corrections are needed.
Qualifications
- 0–1 year of electronic equipment diagnosis, repair, or related experience.
- Good soldering skills, including basic surface-mount components.
- Basic understanding of electronics theory.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing documentation.
- Ability to use common hand tools.
- Ability to operate electronic test equipment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Education
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology, technical school, or certificate in electronics.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily works in a manufacturing/technical environment.
- May work around machinery, electrical tools, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
- Must be comfortable standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and working with hands and electronic equipment.
- Regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs.
- Occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
- May occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach overhead.
- Safety precautions and appropriate PPE must be followed.
