JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Title: Cross-Dock Supervisor
Reports To: Cross-Dock Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Job Purpose
Supervise daily cross-dock operations and associates to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and service goals. Ensure staffing, workflow, inventory, shipping, and receiving activities are completed accurately and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operations
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe docks, aisles, work areas, break areas, restrooms, and shipping offices.
- Schedule staff across departments to support a 7-day operation.
- Conduct daily start-up meetings covering volumes, expectations, safety, staffing, and operational priorities.
- Prepare for shift turnover by reviewing inbound volumes, HOT and cross-dock vendor status, carryover work, call-offs, and overtime needs.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and required training.
- Ensure products are received, handled, and put away accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct operational audits as needed.
- Coordinate with yard personnel to ensure the correct trailers are positioned for outbound loading.
- Communicate load status, delays, and completion expectations to Transportation.
- Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and process changes.
- Monitor quality and productivity and communicate expectations to associates.
- Investigate and assist with customer mis-ship issues and corrective actions.
- Review and approve daily and weekly timesheets for payroll accuracy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Product and Inventory Control
- Ensure accurate and efficient receiving, storage, handling, and shipping of merchandise through daily operational checks.
- Partner with Inventory Control to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Reduce in-house damage through associate training, awareness, and accountability.
Supervision and Leadership
- Direct and monitor warehouse operational staff to ensure safe, productive, and efficient performance.
- Evaluate associate performance through observation and formal reviews; provide coaching and corrective action as needed.
- Enforce company policies and procedures consistently.
- Develop Lead Warehouse Associates and direct reports to strengthen performance and support career development.
- Assist management in controlling warehouse cost per case, maintaining fill-rate and on-time shipment goals, and reducing OSHA-recordable injuries.

Minimum Qualifications
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Self-directed with the ability to implement and supervise warehouse and distribution programs.
- Basic computer and Warehouse Management System (WMS) proficiency.
- Prior warehouse or distribution-center supervisory experience, preferably in a wholesale environment.
