CT Technologist Job Details
  • Location: Rockville, Maryland
  • Position: Lead CT Technologist
  • Setting: Hospital radiology department
  • Assignment Type: 13-week hospital travel assignment
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,380–$2,550
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week on day shifts; Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, with every other Saturday coverage
  • Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts; weekday hours are approximately 7:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with every other Saturday scheduled from 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
  • Start Date: November 2, 2026
  • Work Arrangement: On-site
  • Patient Population: Infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
  • Department Volume: High-volume environment with more than 100 daily cases across a 24-hour period
  • Equipment: Siemens GoTop, Siemens XCite, GE 64-slice scanner, and MedRad injectors
Lead CT Technologist Qualifications
  • Approximately 10 years of CT experience preferred, with strong lead or management experience
  • Current ARRT certification in Radiography and CT, including ARRT(R) and ARRT(CT)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Active Maryland or Compact license in hand at the time of submission
  • Community hospital and LTAC experience required
  • Previous travel assignment experience required
  • Experience with Cerner and PACS
  • Proficiency with CT protocol management, contrast administration, IV starts, venipuncture, radiation safety, and advanced image reconstruction
  • Experience with adult, pediatric, and emergency imaging populations
  • COVID-19 vaccination is required
  • Ability to float within the hospital and within the scope of practice
CT Technologist Responsibilities
  • Lead daily CT operations and provide technical guidance to the imaging team
  • Perform high-quality CT examinations for emergency, inpatient, outpatient, ICU, trauma, and cardiac cases
  • Complete studies involving the head, brain perfusion, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine, musculoskeletal system, vascular structures, coronary arteries, and other specialty areas
  • Prepare and administer contrast media in accordance with established safety protocols
  • Perform and support procedures including biopsies, drainages, CT arthrography, myelography, and cardiac imaging
  • Utilize multiplanar reconstruction, maximum intensity projection, surface-shaded display, volume rendering, and region-of-interest measurements
  • Manage CT protocols, review imaging quality, and support ACR standards and radiation-safety practices
  • Start peripheral IVs and perform venipuncture while maintaining infection-control and isolation precautions
  • Coordinate scheduling and collaborate with radiologists, nurses, IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and other support departments
  • Document patient care and imaging activities accurately in Cerner and related systems
  • Provide compassionate, professional care to patients and families throughout the imaging experience
