Position Overview

EGS is seeking a technically driven Process Development Specialist to support a chemical manufacturing operation in Martin, SC.

This position will play an important role in developing, transferring, troubleshooting, and optimizing chemical manufacturing processes. The selected candidate will collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to improve product quality, plant efficiency, process reliability, and overall manufacturing performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and transfer new chemical manufacturing processes into the production facility.
  • Design and execute laboratory experiments supporting process development and troubleshooting.
  • Investigate manufacturing issues using structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis.
  • Improve product quality, yield, throughput, cycle time, and equipment performance.
  • Maintain controlled process documentation, operating instructions, and technical reports.
  • Initiate and coordinate Management of Change (MOC) activities.
  • Support investigations involving production-related customer complaints and quality issues.
  • Evaluate alternative raw-material suppliers through laboratory testing and qualification studies.
  • Maintain manufacturing recipes, bills of materials, and process information within SAP.
  • Monitor plant performance indicators and recommend process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Strong laboratory and chemical-process knowledge.
  • Experience designing and executing laboratory experiments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare technical reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline.
  • 2+ years of laboratory or chemical manufacturing experience.
  • Chemical manufacturing environment experience.
  • SAP or other manufacturing ERP experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous-improvement experience.
  • Root-cause investigation and corrective-action experience.
