Role Overview

Bring your NPSS expertise to advanced aerospace gas turbine engine development.

BEPC is seeking a highly experienced Gas Turbine Systems Engineer specializing in Performance & Operability modeling and analysis. This role is designed for an engineer who has personally performed thermodynamic modeling—not simply provided inputs to or used outputs from Performance or Operability analyses.

You'll build, debug, refine, and maintain NPSS engine cycle models, perform requirements decomposition, support engine development and qualification, and collaborate across engineering disciplines in a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment.

What Makes You a Strong Fit

  • Hands-on gas turbine Performance and/or Operability engineering
  • Strong NPSS modeling expertise
  • Steady-state and transient thermodynamic cycle analysis
  • Requirements analysis and decomposition
  • MBSE experience
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, debug, refine, and maintain steady-state and transient NPSS thermal models.
  • Develop NPSS models supporting customer and program requirements.
  • Perform aerospace gas turbine Performance & Operability analysis.
  • Conduct requirements analysis and decomposition.
  • Support engine definition throughout New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Provide test coverage and data reduction supporting engine development and qualification.
  • Transfer NPSS modeling knowledge and mentor other engineers.
  • Work across engineering disciplines to develop accurate system models.
  • Support integration of NPSS models within an MBSE environment.
  • Communicate technical findings through presentations, reports, and customer discussions.
  • Solve complex engineering problems while managing changing priorities and multiple technical tasks.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or another relevant technical discipline.
  • 4+ years of turbine engine Performance & Operability modeling and analysis experience.
  • Direct experience performing aerospace gas turbine steady-state and/or transient thermodynamic modeling.
  • Demonstrated experience building, debugging, and refining NPSS engine cycle models.
  • Experience with requirements decomposition.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Experience operating within a Model-Based Systems Engineering environment.
  • Strong technical communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience connecting NPSS models with MBSE tools such as Cameo.
  • Strong understanding of gas turbine engine thermodynamics and physics.
  • Experience developing NPSS customer models.
  • Technical mentoring and NPSS knowledge-transfer experience.
  • Experience supporting engine testing, data reduction, development, and qualification.
  • Experience presenting technical information to customers and senior leadership.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse and globally distributed engineering teams.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid work in Phoenix (3+ days onsite per week) is preferred. Fully remote candidates may be considered; however, remote employees may occasionally need to travel to the Phoenix site for customer-critical design reviews, testing, or other program needs.
