Job Description
Clayton Services is searching for an Assembly Technician to join a thriving company in the Houston area. The Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling, fitting, and testing industrial control valves and related components according to technical drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, experience working with hand and power tools, and a background in mechanical assembly or manufacturing.
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $24.00–$30.00/hour

Assembly Technician Responsibilities:
- Assemble industrial control valves and mechanical components according to specifications and assembly instructions.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly diagrams.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments to assemble and fit components.
- Install, adjust, and secure mechanical parts, fittings, and connections.
- Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, quality, and proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic mechanical assembly issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
- Work closely with the production team to meet quality standards and production deadlines.
Assembly Technician Skills and Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical assembly processes.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
- General knowledge of mechanical fittings, fasteners, and components.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after training.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new assembly processes.
- Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing or production environment.
Assembly Technician Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in mechanical assembly, industrial manufacturing, or a related production environment required.
- Experience assembling industrial valves, control valves, or fluid control equipment is highly preferred.
- Experience working with mechanical fittings, piping components, or similar industrial equipment is a plus.
- Additional training will be provided based on previous experience and technical knowledge.
