We’re currently seeking an experienced Kitchen Food Safety & Production Senior Manager to lead our client's Quality Assurance and Food Production efforts at our client's Lacey facility. Job Purpose
The Kitchen Food Safety & Production Senior Manager will oversee the development, implementation, and daily management of food safety and quality assurance programs at a single facility. This role ensures all practices comply with internal standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. You will lead the on-site QA team, conduct regular inspections, and serve as the primary contact for all food safety matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the facility’s kitchen team, including supervisors and quality assurance technicians.
- Develop, implement, and monitor food safety and quality programs in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations (FDA, USDA, SQF, HACCP, GMP).
- Conduct routine internal inspections and audits to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Respond promptly to urgent food safety matters, including product recalls or potential contamination events.
- Maintain accurate records of audits, inspections, corrective actions, and training.
- Ensure all staff follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety guidelines.
- Serve as the facility’s point of contact for government inspectors and customer representatives.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to the operations team on quality and food safety procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong leadership experience in food safety and quality assurance within a food production or distribution setting.
- In-depth knowledge of HACCP, GMP, Food Defense, and FDA/USDA regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of food safety programs on-site.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Required:
- HACCP certification
- Previous experience with Food Defense.
- Previous SQF experience.
- 2+ years of experience managing food safety or Quality Assurance teams
- Experience in food manufacturing or warehouse operations preferred
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures in both kitchen and warehouse settings
- Standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods
- Comfortable working around food production equipment
