Surgical Technician

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Per Diem Surgical Technologist to join our team at a new ambulatory surgery center. This is an excellent opportunity for a Surgical Tech who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants the flexibility of per diem scheduling.

The Surgical Technologist will work closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other members of the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the surgical experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for scheduled surgical procedures.
• Set up sterile fields, instruments, supplies, and equipment according to the needs of each case.
• Assist the surgical team before, during, and after procedures.
• Maintain strict sterile technique and follow infection prevention standards.
• Perform surgical counts of instruments, needles, and sponges according to facility policy.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team during procedures.
• Properly handle and care for surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases.
• Ensure specimens are properly identified, handled, and transferred according to policy.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe operating room environment.
• Follow all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively with the surgical team to promote patient safety and efficient case flow.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred.
• Current Surgical Technologist certification preferred/required based on applicable requirements.
• Current BLS certification.
• Previous operating room experience required.
• ASC experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating room procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, professional, and team-oriented.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
