About this job
Job Description
Aerospace CNC Machinists - Multiple Openings - Central Maine
$9,000 relocation package available for qualified candidates moving to Maine.
An established aerospace and defense machining company in central Maine is adding a large group of experienced CNC machinists. Work is contracted for years ahead, so this is long-term, stable work, not a short project.
Pay is up to $40/hr for top-tier experience. A $9,000 relocation package is available for qualified candidates moving to Maine from out of state.
What you'll do:
- Set up and run CNC mills and lathes on precision aerospace parts
- Read blueprints and apply GD&T to hold tight tolerances
- Measure and inspect your own parts with precision measuring equipment
- Catch and report deviations when a part comes out off-spec, and work out why
- Use shop power tools as needed
What we're looking for:
- 2+ years of hands-on CNC machining. The more experience, the better.
- Setup experience is required. Programming experience is a strong plus.
- Solid GD&T and blueprint reading
- Comfortable with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, CMM or laser measurement a plus)
- Mazak / Mazatrol experience is a big plus
- A plus: large-part work on VTLs, horizontal mills, or horizontal boring mills, and machines such as Toshiba, Bullard, Doosan/Daewoo Puma, G&L, Mori Seiki, Makino, Niigata, OM, or Schiess
- Aerospace, defense, or other close-tolerance work history is a plus
Local central Maine candidates are preferred. Out-of-state machinists with strong experience are encouraged to apply. Ask us about relocation.
Shift details are discussed at the interview.
