We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and patient-focused Ophthalmic Scribe to join our growing team in The Woodlands.

Position Summary

This full-time position supports a cornea, cataract, and refractive ophthalmologist during patient examinations while ensuring accurate, timely clinical documentation. The ideal candidate has ophthalmic experience, strong EMR skills, and thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Document physician-patient encounters, exam findings, diagnostic test results, and treatment plans in the EMR.
• Assist ophthalmologists and optometrists during patient examinations.
• Enter appropriate CPT codes and maintain accurate, compliant patient records.
• Prepare charts, anticipate provider needs, and help maintain efficient patient flow.
• Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in an ophthalmology or vision care practice as an Ophthalmic Scribe, Technician, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of ophthalmic terminology, diagnostic testing, EMR systems, and clinical documentation.
• Experience supporting an ophthalmic surgeon strongly preferred.
• Cornea experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Professional, dependable, and patient-focused.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Schedule - Hours of Operation

• Monday through Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
