Location: Newark, DE (Hybrid: 2 days onsite per week)
Duration: Full-time employement
Pay Range: $41,600 Annual
Job Description
We are seeking a Collections Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in collections, customer communication, and negotiation and a proven ability to manage delinquent account portfolios, recover losses, and maintain compliance with federal regulations.
Key Details:
Start Date: 11/9/2026
Hours/Week: 40
Interview Window: 10/7, 10/8, 10/9. On 10/9, interviews are available from 9 AM to 1 PM ET.
Post-training shifts: 8–5, 10–7, or 12–9. Management will assign shifts based on business needs.
Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of assigned delinquent accounts.
Initiate contact via phone, email, and written correspondence to discuss debts, payment options, and negotiate arrangements.
Document all collection activities and communications in accordance with client standards and Federal Regulations.
Provide customer service by answering inquiries, supplying accurate information, and addressing concerns.
Use skip tracing tools to locate customers with changed or unavailable contact information.
Perform related duties as assigned to support business needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong negotiation and persuasion skills with respectful, professional communication.
Effective verbal and written communication, active listening, and empathy.
Ability to handle difficult conversations and resolve conflicts with composure.
Detail orientation with solid organization and time management.
Reliability and flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends as required.
Basic computing skills.
Ability to obtain any required collection license upon placement.
Preferred Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent. Some college coursework in business or related fields preferred.
0–1 years of experience in collections or customer service, preferably in financial or credit environments.
Proficiency with collections software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with debt collection laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
