Science General Education Teacher | Cicero, Illinois

Inspire young minds and foster a love for science as a dedicated Health Science Teacher in a dynamic junior high environment. This contract position, based near Cicero, IL, offers an exciting opportunity to guide and educate students in health and science subjects through the end of the 2026-2027 school year.

Your expertise and enthusiasm will empower students at the junior high level, focusing on foundational principles of health, chemistry, anatomy, and general science. This role is strictly onsite, creating an interactive and engaging classroom experience—remote work is not available.

Qualifications & Experience Sought:

• Valid teaching license with Professional Educator License (PEL); substitute licensure is not accepted
• Endorsement in health science or related field (chemistry, anatomy, general science, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience teaching in general education science settings at the junior high or similar levels
• Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
• Commitment to educational excellence and student development

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging health science curriculum to junior high students
• Develop lesson plans in accordance with academic standards and best practices
• Assess and track student progress, providing feedback and support to encourage academic growth
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that motivates students to participate and excel
• Collaborate with school staff, parents, and the wider educational community

Additional Details:

• Full-time, contract position with a set weekly schedule (33.75 hours; schedule is strictly non-flexible)
• Position begins as soon as possible and continues through May 21, 2027
• Preference for educators with a passion for health science and interdisciplinary teaching
