Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A pharmacy professional is needed to fill a 26-week contract position with potential for permanent placement in a long-term care and mail order setting. This role offers a dynamic work schedule with day and evening shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday, including rotating weekends.

Location: Dearborn, MI
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Rotating shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM and 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Rotating weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Monitor patient medication adherence and identify potential overuse
  • Maintain proper inventory and ensure medication supplies comply with legal standards
  • Counsel patients on medication use, potential side effects, and answer inquiries
  • Provide consultation on both prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, storage, and drug interactions
  • Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
  • Educate patients on proper use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth pharmacy operations
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, interns, and other healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related issues

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
  • Valid Michigan pharmacy license
  • Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; LTC experience is advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of medication management and patient counseling
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
