Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a knowledgeable and dedicated pharmacist to support both Long Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order pharmacy environments. The role offers a contract-to-hire arrangement for 26 weeks, working a mid shift schedule that facilitates a balanced workday.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Rotating every 3rd Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal standards.
- Monitor patient medication adherence and identify any patterns of overuse.
- Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate for each patient’s condition.
- Maintain confidential and precise patient and pharmacy records.
- Provide patients with clear, informative consultations on medication usage, side effects, and potential drug interactions.
- Deliver patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on the correct use and handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compound medications, including sterile preparations, following established procedures.
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to maintain efficient pharmacy operations.
- Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare practitioners to resolve drug-related problems.
Desired Experience:
- Experience in Long Term Care pharmacy settings is highly valued.
- Mail order pharmacy experience is beneficial.
- Experience in sterile compounding is a plus.
